Gilsland Players
About Gilsland Players
We’re a friendly, enthusiastic and inclusive group of performers, presenting plays, comedies, pantomimes and workshops, entertaining the village of Gilsland. The unlikey group were brought together for The Lord Of Misrule, for Festival Of Saturnalia, HW 1900 Festival in 2022 and was a living history play and fine dining experience written by comedian Chris Cantrill.

Gilsland Village Hall
Follow the antics of Gordon, Bernard, Joyce and Margaret the hapless members of
Little Gilsland Amateur Dramatic Society in Last Tango & Lockdown two one-act comedies written by David Tristram.
Last Tango In Little Gilsland
The Society is in trouble. Membership has dwindled to four, the audiences aren't much bigger, and if they don't come up with some rent money soon, they're going to be thrown out of the village hall. "There's only one thing that sells tickets these days," argues chairman Gordon, "Sex!"
Lockdown
Chairman Gordon calls an emergency meeting, complete with social distancing, to discuss his idea for their next production when restrictions ease. He proposes a touching love story set in a hospital, with all profits to go to their local hospital. But based on their previous efforts, will the hospital actually end up worse off?
