About the Event

A Creative Day Retreat

Design, create and unwind — a day of tarot-inspired art, yoga and sound

Join us for a gently held day of movement, creativity and deep rest, centred around designing your own tarot card. This day retreat offers a creative introduction to the visual world of tarot — focusing on symbolism, imagery and personal expression rather than tarot reading.

Through accessible yoga, a guided art workshop and a restorative sound bath, you’ll be supported to slow down, explore your creativity and make something uniquely your own. Whether you’re new to art or simply curious about tarot as a creative practice, this day offers a welcoming and inspiring space to take part.

About the Facilitators

Amanda Drago is a movement practitioner and teacher whose work brings together dance, yoga and sound. Trained at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, she has many years of experience working across both community and professional settings.

Her yoga teaching focuses on creating a calm, supportive space where people can move, rest and reconnect in their own way.

Amanda is also an accredited Crystal and Himalayan Bowl Practitioner through the College of Sound Healing. She uses a combination of crystal bowls, Himalayan bowls, chimes and other instruments to create gentle sound experiences that support relaxation and rest.

Sally Anderson is a visual artist and creative facilitator based in the North East of England. With a background in performance arts, she has performed widely across the UK before returning to visual art during the Covid-19 pandemic as a way to support her wellbeing.

Her practice explores bold, playful mark-making using acrylics, Posca pens and mixed media, often on unconventional surfaces. Sally now delivers inclusive, supportive workshops that focus on creativity, confidence and self-expression rather than traditional techniques. With an MSc in Psychology and a PGCE specialising in SEND, her work is rooted in the belief that art can positively support mental health and wellbeing for all.

What to Expect

We begin the day with a slow, grounding and accessible yoga practice led by Amanda, offering space to arrive, settle and connect with your body.

Sally will then introduce The Art of Tarot, sharing a range of vintage and contemporary decks while exploring the rich visual language of tarot and some of the artists behind it.

After a relaxed, home-cooked lunch, the afternoon invites you into your own creative process. You’ll design your own tarot card, supported by gentle guidance and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Step-by-step options will be available for beginners or those who feel less confident, while more experienced artists are free to explore their own ideas.

The day closes with a deeply immersive Crystal & Himalayan Bowl Sound Bath, allowing the body and mind to fully relax and integrate the day’s experiences.
