Moon Booth

Moon Booth

A travelling photobooth

2011 - 2018

The paper moon was most commonly found in cheap photo studios at fairs and carnivals, offering couples and friends the chance to commemorate their festive time together with a souvenir postcard of their trip to the heavens.

Our moon which we designed and created, was made orignally as piece of set for a 20's inspired dance performance. As the story goes, to recoup some costs of the costs we decided to take photos in the moon and the Moon Booth was born, followed shortly by Boat Booth. Amanda got very good at working wth people to make the feel comfortable, and Kit was adpet at taking the shot at the right moment. After 8 years on tour to festivals, fairs, burlesque and cabaret nights, product launches, weddings and parties we decided to retire Mr Moon.

We were lucky to tour across the country and in Europe working with Swarovski, The Late Shows, Swung Eight, Leeds Swing Dance Society, St Oswald's Hospice, The Side Gallery, Ballet Lorent, Stockton International Riverside Festival, Newcastle/Harrogate/York Does Vintage, Tyne and Wear Archives And Museums, Boiler Shop Steamer, Eat Festival, Corbridge Festival , Tyneside Cinema, The Cumberland Arms, Discovery Musuem, Hebden Bridge Burleque Festival, Vamos Festival, Burleque Noir and many weddings.

During the 8 years we took over 40,000 photos of people of all ages. People still send us messages to say that they love their picture on Mr Moon and that it is the best photo they have of them.

We still love Mr Moon and you never know he may return!!!
