A Day Retreat with Amanda Drago, Susie Tate & Kit Haigh
If you’ve ever felt like yoga or Pilates wasn’t for you—this retreat is. Join Amanda Drago and Susie Tate for a peaceful, welcoming day designed to help you feel more at ease in your body, mind, and spirit. Set in beautiful landscape and historic surroundings on Hadrian's Wall, this retreat gently combines Hatha Yoga, Pilates, with live music from Kit Haigh, mindfulness, and sound healing—practices that meet you where you are.
All practices are offered with adaptations and options to suit a wide range of needs and abilities, ensuring everyone can take part comfortably and safely.
Whether you're completely new or returning to movement after a break, you’ll be supported every step of the way. This day is about moving with kindness, resting deeply, and reconnecting with yourself—at your own pace.

What to Expect:
Gentle, accessible Yoga & Pilates sessions accompanied by live music
Mindful self guided walk along Hadrian’s Wall and/or a creative nature mandala practice at the barn.
A deeply relaxing sound bath

A nurturing atmosphere in peaceful, natural surroundings
Retreat Day Timetable
9:45 AM – 10:00 AM | Arrival & Welcome
Ease into the day with a warm welcome, herbal tea, and an overview of the retreat.
10:00 AM – 11:30 AM | Pilates with Susie accompanied by Kit
Gentle, strengthening movement to awaken and align the body.
11:30 AM – 1:00 PM | Mindful self guided walk along Hadrian’s Wall or Nature Mandala workshop creating a circular artwork from natural materials to symbolise the interconnectedness of all things. Take in the fresh air and stunning views either through walking in the landscape or connecting with nature.
1:00 PM – 2:00 PM | Nourishing Lunch
Enjoy a wholesome, plant-based lunch.
2:00 PM – 3:00 PM | Restorative Yoga with Amanda accompanied by Kit
Restorative Yoga uses props to fully support the body in restful postures, held for several minutes, allowing you to release tension without effort.
3:00 PM – 4:30 PM | Sound Bath with Amanda
Lie back on flotation beds and receive the healing vibrations of Crystal and Himalayan bowls.
4:30 PM – 5:00 PM | Closing Circle with Tea & Cake
A gentle closing with time to reflect, share, and enjoy something sweet.
Meet Your Facilitators
Amanda Drago is a Hatha Yoga teacher and qualified sound therapist, known for her inclusive, nurturing teaching style. With a background as a professional dancer, Amanda integrates fluid movement, rhythm, and deep presence into her classes. She has taught across diverse communities—from SEN children in hospital settings to dancers in professional training. Amanda holds a BA in Dance (Northern School of Contemporary Dance), a 200hr YA Hatha Yoga certification, 85hr Pregnancy Yoga training, and is a certified Sound Therapist with the College of Sound Healing.
Susie Tate is a Pilates teacher and dance artist based in the Allen Valleys, Northumberland. With over a decade working in leading UK dance companies and later in New Zealand’s clinical Pilates field, Susie specialises in injury prevention, rehabilitation, and accessible movement. She now works closely with healthcare professionals in hospitals and hospices, delivering dance sessions that are inclusive, informed, and joyful. Her teaching is shaped by deep experience and connection to wellbeing in both clinical and community settings.
Kit Haigh is a British composer, musician, and multimedia artist known for his innovative work in music, sound design, and interactive installations. He has created award-winning scores for film, TV, and dance, including the Emmy- and BAFTA-winning The Boy Whose Skin Fell Off. A long-time collaborator with choreographer Amanda Drago and visual artist Imogen Cloet, Haigh explores how sound transforms space, using found sounds to create calming, generative compositions that blur the lines between music and environment. His work can be found at Bowes Museum, Seaton Delaval Hall and Alnwick Castle.
