Getting here

The Threshing Barn at Green Croft on the Wall sits between the villages of Gilsland and Greenhead, on the Northumberland–Cumbria border in the Tyne Valley.

The buildings lie directly on the line of Hadrian’s Wall, in a beautifully rural and historic setting. Our nearest town is Haltwhistle, just 4 miles away.

We are approximately 19 miles east of Carlisle, 20 miles west of Hexham, and 41 miles west of Newcastle, making us easily accessible while feeling wonderfully off the beaten track.

  • Take the next left, down the lane signed Green Croft / Chapel House Farm, and we are the first farm you come to.

Parking
  • We have FREE onsite parking for customers. Please park in the courtyard. Do not park on the lane or land just off the lane as our neighbours are farmers and need access at all times.

  • If you would like to take a walk before or after your visit we would recommend parking at either Thirlwall View or Gilsland School car parks. Both are free and offer easy short interesting walks close by.
