About the Event

Introduction to Needle Felted Landscape With Jane Firth

Thursday 15th August 10.00am - 3.00pm

Time: 4 hour workshop plus hour for lunch

Cost: £75.00 including homemade lunch tea, coffee, cakes or biscuits.

Materials & P&P: There will be an additional charge of £10 for materials which is payable to Jane on the day.

Experience: Beginners and intermediate. NB, needle felting pictures is a very different technique from 3D objects.

Group size: The workshop runs with between 8 - 10 participants per session.

Learn the basics of needle felting and about the varieties of wool  and other fibres available in the UK. Different fibres behave in different ways so Jane can recommend fibres and techniques to achieve the effects desired. Take away your own unique creation and the materials and knowledge to complete anything you have not finished.

Jane needle felts animal portraits and landscapes from a studio overlooking Ullswater drawing inspiration from her surroundings. She processes every stage of her locally-sourced fleeces from sheep to picture including dying. The fibres and techniques Jane uses give a three-dimensional texture which captures the scene in a unique way.
