Sea Glass aritst Rebecca Thompson will lead you in this fun and relaxed workshop, where you will learn a little about sea glass, its history, the rare types and colours, and also how to do a basic wire wrap to house these beautiful sea treasures.Â
Sea Glass is a unique medium that is found on beaches all over the world. Glass that was once made from sand by man and then discarded. Â We don't know how it found its way into the sea, but over many decades movement of the waves and tumbling amongst the pebbles turns it into beautiful sea jewels that reveal themselves on the beach where they are found by those who seek it. Â You will be able to go home knowing that you hold something original and completely unique, just like you! Â Â Please note that due to the use of wire cutters and wire we do not recommend this workshop to children under 12 years old.
Rebecca Thompson is the founder of ‘The Sea Glass Company’ based on the coast of Northumberland. She designs and creates bespoke sea glass jewellery and also uses the inspiration of the coast to create other mediums such as silver clay, one-wire pictures, resin and fluid art.
