About the Event

Yoga for Runners & Walkers Workshop

Join Amanda for a head-to-toe exploration of how yoga can help balance the body and relieve the tightness that often develops from regular running, hiking, or walking.

Is this workshop for you?

  • Do you run, hike or enjoy long walks but notice tight hips, calves or hamstrings afterwards?

  • Do you sometimes feel stiff, sore, or imbalanced after exercise?

  • Are you curious about how yoga could support your movement and recovery?

Whether you’re an experienced runner, love walking the fells, go to the gym, are just starting your fitness journey, or simply want to ease tightness in your body, this workshop is for you.

Regular yogis are very welcome, but it’s also perfect if you’ve never tried yoga before. If you’ve ever thought yoga was “just stretching” or only for flexible people, this is a great opportunity to discover how supportive and practical it can be.

What will you learn?

In this workshop Amanda will guide you through simple, practical yoga movements designed to support runners and walkers.

You’ll explore techniques you can incorporate into your pre- and post-run or hike routines, helping to release tight areas, improve mobility, and build strength where it’s needed most.

You’ll leave with ideas you can easily use to help keep your body moving well so you can continue doing the activities you love.

Why does it matter?

Running and walking are fantastic cardiovascular exercises that release feel-good endorphins. However, the repetitive nature of these activities can place strain on certain muscle groups — particularly the calves, hamstrings, quadriceps and hip flexors — while other muscles remain underused. Over time, these imbalances can lead to tightness, reduced mobility and even injury.

Yoga can help restore balance by lengthening tight muscles, mobilising joints, and strengthening weaker areas, creating more stability and resilience throughout the body.
