Our Trailblazer Exhibition featuring the life and work of famous electronic music composer Delia Derbyshire who lived in Gilsland between 1974 and 1980 will open to visitors in The Threshing Barn at Green Croft On The Wall during summer 2024. Delia arranged the theme tune to Dr Who and was a pioneer of electronic music making in the UK.

Over 5 weeks you will learn about Delia Derbyshire and how she made music using found sounds. You will record your own found sounds from objects and sounds around you. You will learn about looping and editing the sounds, putting effects on the sounds and layering the sounds into tracks.

This project has been funded through the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
