Chair Yoga

A gentle form of yoga that can be done while sitting and moving to standing using a chair for support. It can improve your flexibility, balance, concentration and strength, while boosting your mood and reducing stress and joint strain.

Chair Yoga is a gentle class adapting yoga poses with a chair. This class cultivates awareness and deep relaxation through meditation, breath work, and gentle stretches all without the stress of getting up and down off the floor. The chair is used for seated postures and meditation and also for greater stability in standing and balance postures. You will also learn techniques to calm the mind and body that can be practiced anywhere. All levels and abilities are welcomeYou will experience the same benefits of other yoga classes and can help to

The class follows a similar structure to any other yoga class.

Meditation and Pranayama (breathing): The class begins with meditation and breath work to focus the mind and create space for moving. Warm Up: A series of gentle movements to mobilise the body. The Asanas (Poses): The practice continues with a series of strengthening and stretching poses. Savasana (relaxation): The class ends with a silent or guided savasana.

We will be using chairs, wear comfortable clothes to move in. Don't forget the water to keep you hydrated.
